Disney Family sits in a different space from Disney’s main entertainment channels. Rather than focusing on releases and franchise moments, Disney Family speaks directly to parents — offering support, community and relatable content shaped around the everyday chaos of family life. The challenge was to create a clearer and more distinctive identity for Disney Family, one that could stand apart from Disney UK while still feeling unmistakably Disney. The toolkit also needed to reduce visual contrast, polish and elevate the feed, enhance content, keep consistency and expand the design system for a fast-moving editorial team.
I designed a flexible Disney Family social toolkit built to make content creation faster, clearer and more recognisable. At the heart of the system was a refined type hierarchy, paired with a pillar-based colour system that organised content around Practical, Community and Emotional Value.
Around this, I developed new Disney Family graphic elements — including sparkles, badges, stickers, rounded text boxes, gradient backgrounds and image frames — alongside a refreshed set of highlight covers built from a navy base, minimal imagery and playful Disney-inspired accents.
To help Disney Family stay fresh across the year, I also created seasonal illustration sets for Christmas, Easter, summer and Halloween, plus a broader range of supporting colour combinations for different moods and moments. The result was a more confident and scalable Disney Family visual language: one that allowed the team to move quickly, package content more consistently and build a clearer distinction within the wider Disney ecosystem, while keeping Disney’s warmth, optimism and magic present in every detail.
